Residential Living for Young People

CHILDRENS RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

We aim to provide an environment that is safe, nurturing and fosters social inclusion and enables the young person to achieve the 5 positive outcomes identified in “Every Child Matters”.
Our accommodation is provided in spacious detached and semi-detached properties. The houses are maintained and decorated to a high standard and young people are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms, deciding house rules and what’s on the menu each week. Our homes have between one and 4 bedrooms and we take both planned and emergency admissions. We work closely with families, local authorities and all stakeholders involved directly in care provisions for children and young people. We are able to offer support to young people aged 10 to 16 years of either gender who may be exhibiting emotional difficulties and challenging behaviours.

We provide equipment such as television, DVD player, and computers for doing school work and X-Boxes or a PlayStation. Our young people have access to other activities such as swimming, horse riding, golf, Libraries and other sports from local community amenities.

Each young person is allocated a key worker to work with. The key worker will ensure a person-centred approach is used to support the young person. The key worker will act as an advocate and mentor to the young person as well as drawing up the pathway plan in collaboration with the social worker and other agencies.
